Tiddlywinks

Illnesses

If your child has an infection or illness or is vomiting or has diarrhoea symptoms, please keep the child at home until all symptoms have stopped for 48 hours. Certain illnesses are extremely contagious and are certain to spread quickly among the children and their families and other contacts unless steps are taken to avoid this.

You are asked to notify Tiddlywinks of the illness/ infection at your earliest opportunity, so that we can alert other parents/ carers and take the necessary precautions including excluding your child for the period that the illness/ infection is contagious.

All staff members work within the guidelines as stipulated within the Health and Safety Guide for Playgroups, Nurseries and Nursery Schools (Health Promotion Wales) and the Exclusion of Children with Infectious Diseases from Schools, Nurseries, Playgroups and Childminders (National Public Health Service for Wales) and the Coordinators will have the final say on whether a child displaying or experiencing an infection/ illness will be allowed to attend Tiddlywinks. In the event that when a child with an illness is within our care and it is deemed necessary to take emergency action including hospitalisation, this action will be undertaken whether we are able to contact you or your named representative or not.
