CONTRACT for CHILDCARE

GENERAL TERMS and CONDITIONS

In these terms and conditions ‘Tiddlywinks', 'Centre', `we', `us' and 'our’ means Canolfan Gofal Plant Tiddlywinks Childcare Centre Cyfyngedig, situated at 38 Commercial Street, Ystalyfera, Swansea; 'Parent, 'Parents', or 'you' means the parent(s) or guardian(s) or the person responsible for the child registered at Tiddlywinks; and ‘child’ or 'children' means any child that has been registered at Tiddlywinks.

  1. Our fees apply to our standard hours of operation 9.00am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday. Additional fees are due outside of these hours. Fees are payable one month in advance.
  2. In order to register a child at Tiddlywinks or to place a child on our waiting list, parents must complete a registration form and pay the relevant registration fee. When a place is offered a deposit of one month's fees is payable immediately in order to secure that place. Please note that by securing a place for a child, we have had to turn someone else away. If you wish to make any changes of any sort, even if your child has not yet joined us, the first month's fee will remain payable.
  3. Payment of fees is a month in advance and should be made by bank transfer, cheque, childcare vouchers, standing order or cash. All payments, unless by bank transfer, should be forwarded to the office. Cheque payments require the name of the child to be placed on the back of the cheque. Cash payments should be within an envelope that has the child’s name clearly written on it and handed over to the Coordinators in person. A receipt will be given to you.
  4. In the event of any fees remaining unpaid or parents breaching any of these terms and conditions or that we deem this action to be necessary in the interests of other children or of Tiddlywinks, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate a child's place with immediate effect.
  5. Parents should inform Tiddlywinks in writing of any change in personal circumstances, address and/or telephone contact numbers as soon as possible when they happen or become known.
  6. Notice of termination period: A minimum of one month's notice is required in writing.
  7. Tiddlywinks reserves the right to revise its fees at any time.
  8. Tiddlywinks cannot give refunds for any absence however caused.
  9. Parents should notify us by 9.00am if their child will be unable to attend on the day.
  10. We reserve the right to send home a child if such action is deemed to be in the best interest of that child or the other children in our care.
  11. Parents must inform the Centre if the child develops any infectious disease or infection, including impetigo, head lice, thread worms, etc. and agree to abide by the terms of exclusion as stipulated within our Exclusion Policy.
  12. The Centre will undertake to inform parents of any known infection or infectious disease with which they are aware that the child may have been in contact with.
  13. It will be assumed that Tiddlywinks has permission for all children to be taken outside the premises. If parents wish their child to be excluded from any specific activity they must inform Tiddlywinks in writing.
  14. Tiddlywinks is closed on Bank Holidays and for two weeks over the Christmas period. As a rule fees will not be charged for these periods.
  15. Please note that it is important for the children, and for our staff, that you ensure your child(ren) is/are collected promptly. We appreciate that on occasions delays are unavoidable and trust that you will inform. Tiddlywinks at your earliest opportunity. Delays in collecting children will incur an additional hourly fee.
  16. Tiddlywinks expects children in our care to be collected at the agreed time as specified within the contract with yourselves. If for some reason this does not occur, and we have not heard from the you that you have been delayed or will be late in collecting your child, Tiddlywinks will assume an emergency situation has caused a delay and our procedure for uncollected children will be instigated.
  17. Upon registration of a child at Tiddlywinks, Tiddlywinks and the staff employed will act in `Loco Parentis' for the duration of the time that the child is within their care, both on and off the premises, until a parent or named representative collects the child. In the case of any illness, accident or emergency Tiddlywinks shall have the right to take any such actions as deemed necessary, including hospitalisation if necessary, even if the parents have not yet been informed.
  18. Full details of policies and procedures currently in force at Tiddlywinks are available at the Centre and are highlighted within the Parent's Handbook. Any amendments, variations and or additions are displayed on Notice Boards within Tiddlywinks and will be periodically updated within the Parent's Handbook at its next print run. Every effort will be made to verbally inform you of these changes as soon as they apply but it is your duty to ensure that you, constantly check updates on the Notice Boards. The Centre will not be responsible for your lack of information provided that this information has been displayed at the Centre, verbally conveyed or handed writing to you.
  19. If you wish to express concern regarding any of the above conditions or any other issue affecting the care and well being of your child at Tiddlywinks you are advised to follow our Complaints Procedure, a copy of which has been made available to you. We would remind you that if you remain unhappy with this procedure or feel that you are unable to discuss the matter directly with Tiddlywinks you can contact the regional office of the Care and Social Services Inspectorate for Wales on 01267 245160.
